Boxing training can seem a little scary if you've not tried it before. It's why Total Boxer exists - to make boxing safe, accessible and fun for everyone. If you have done some boxing training before, you'll know just how technical and physically demanding it is!
Total Boxer Personal Training is a great choice whatever your experience or level of fitness, especially if you're completely new to boxing and want to get some basic skills and feel confident before joining our Get FIT Not HIT™ classes.
For beginners, we teach you the fundamentals:
- How to stand (the boxing stance)
- How to throw straight punches
- How to throw curved punches
- How to throw punches in sequence
- How to move without losing balance (footwork)
- How to assess yourself (shadowboxing)
- How to use the equipment (heavy bags, speed ball etc.)
- How to set goals for your training

Depending on your more experienced needs, we teach you:
- How to throw longer punch combinations
- How to throw faster punch combinations without losing technique
- How to throw low punches
- How to avoid punches
- How to block punches
- How to practice defensive combinations
- How to mix punching and defensive combinations
- How to coordinate footwork with punching and defense
- How to improve your reflexes with boxing-like 'games'
- How to be consistent with your technique

With Total Boxer Personal Training we don't charge you extra if you want to bring a friend to your session. Training with a partner is a great way to motivate each other while benefiting from the focus of a personal trainer. It's also pretty useful if you want to share the cost! Dual sessions are booked by one person who can then invite a guest at no extra charge.
Total Boxer Personal Training sessions are available in 30- and 60-minute formats and come in 1, 5, 10, 20 and 50 packs - the more you buy, the cheaper they are!
You can book single or regular occurring sessions with a coach of your choice, and we don't charge extra if you want to bring a friend along!
